We are the Jones family and live in North west Golden right next to Arvada, we have three little girls, and our heart and lives have been forever changed by Mabel who is our daughter with down syndrome. My wife Kenzie has always been involved in the disability community as an Occupational Therapist, but I had not. It was newer for me and I wasn’t ready, so we began to engage in new ways in the community since having Mabel. Kenzie (my wife) started a small flower farm and began giving away the income to the community who needed it.

In our journey of that we went to Hugs Cafe in Mckinney Texas, and it was amazing. I was so grateful for a place to see HIPsters (highly important people qualifying for IDD) loving their work and the community in turn loving getting to learn from HIPsters. I walk out of that place with more meaning and joy in my heart! Experiences like that and others made our family want to help to create a place in West Arvada / Golden for HIPsters to have fun and meaningful work and just the same importance; have a place for the community to get the honor of being friends with HIPsters. We all need support, love, and joy in our life!

My family is also are passionate about good food and would love a consistent place to call home and support a good cause close to us.

So, God brought a few amazing people together to try to help (if that’s you, thank you). We are trying to start bloomable cafe first, which will hopefully be available for breakfast and lunch soon, as well as catering and events. Please come support us when you can, and feel welcomed to sign up for our newsletter in the meantime.

Our first step is hiring an awesome executive director to run things. Please reach out if you are, or know anyone, who feels like a good fit!
